As I Lay Here
As I lay here wide awake at 2am yet again
A number of thoughts race through my head
but one thought never ceases day or night
whether I be laying here in bed
or driving listening to my favorite songs.
My thoughts drift to what could’ve been
What was said and what was done
What I could have changed
What I could have done differently
My mind races through all these thoughts and scenarios
but then I come to realize…
None of that matters
Its over and though for now
My hearts weeps and my mind races,
I’ll be stronger for it
